Jonathan Meyer
INF-C (Simi Valley HS)
6-1, 170
Games seen: 1, Innings: 7
PHYSICSAL DESCRIPTION: Medium build with narrow torso and wide shoulders.
STRENGTHS: Above-average arm strength, soft hands, LCF approach from natural RH side, makes hard contact with wood, versatile defender, gets dirty and hustles constantly: a ballplayer’s ballplayer.
WEAKNESSES: Below-average runner, learning to hit from LH side (building strong front side), average range for SS, below-average power for 3B. DNS catch (Did Not See). Can be too pull conscious from RH side, should continue to tighten up swing with wood. Needs to continue getting stronger.
SUMMARY: Versatile switch-hitting infielder with above-average arm offers potential to hit enough and offers enough flexibility to add value at ML level. Will never be the most toolsy player but will bring a little bit of everything but speed and pure power. Could be average ML starter or top-of-the-line bench player. Reminds me of Willie Bloomquist.
