Scouting video: Jason Kipnis, CF, ASU (2009 Draft)

Posted By John Klima on June 8, 2009

Jason Kipnis might be the cult hero of Baseball Beginnings readers. He’s the football player in a baseball body, with quite a following in at least three parts of the country: Illinois, Kentucky and Tempe, where he has been a mainstay in Arizona State’s lineup for the past two seasons. He was drafted in the fourth round in 2008 and hopes he has played his way higher in 2009. We grabbed the video here at USC earlier in the season. It’s a small look at what he can do, capped by a sacrifice fly to left field. He did his job and the run scored. That’s the way the football players do it — team first.
