Lonnie Chisenhall
Bats: L; Throws: R
6-2, 190
2009 Opening Day age: 20 (B:10/4/88)
Drafted: Indians #1 (29th overall) 2008 draft
2009 club at time of report: Kinston (High A)
Games seen: 1, Innings: 5 (Cal-Carolina League All-Star game)

PHYSICAL DESCRIPTON: Slightly above-average height, tall and lanky, long way from physical maturity, athletic body type good for baseball.

STRENGTHS: “Handsy”-type swing with a whippy bat, rangy runner and defender; average runner, good base runner, heady type player. Above-average athletic actions defensively and on bases; smooth infielder who can go to his right or left.

WEAKNESSES: Despite HR numbers in minors in 2009, did not see much power in this player in BP or game; has contact and slap abilities more than ability to drive ball. Should grow into body as he ages; won’t rule out power in future but DNS him drive ball the way I would have liked to tonight. Doesn’t mean he can’t: just means he didn’t when I happened to see him.

SUMMARY: Should become every day infielder; has a nice set of complementary tools and ability to make contact and reach base carries weight in organization. Young player progressing nicely; still a few years away. Definite Prospect.

Overall Future Potential: 55
