Scouting Video: Spencer Davis, 3B, The Woodlands (TX) HS (2010 Draft)

Spencer Davis has a college commit to Texas A&M. This is another guy with enough talent to make major league teams ask how much they want to spend to lure him away, because he is talented enough to go in out of high school.
Davis is a right-handed hitter who is tall (6-4) and has a lot of room for physical projection while retaining some of the loose musculature that gives The Woodlands HS prospect a pro body. Davis is handsy and showed an idea of how to use them, how to wait, how to turn, and how to get extension at the right time. His bat speed and strong hands make him a gunshot guy with wood, and his firm front and quiet head characteristics are things he repeats. He has whippy torque in his swing and reminds me a little bit of Matt Dominguez, who was a first round pick from Chatsworth High School (Calif.) in 2007.
Davis, who is teammates with Jameson Taillon, is going to get a ton of looks this spring. The thought here is that pro teams are going to have a very hard time walking away from a young hitter with a great foundation, arm to stay at third and enough infield skills to work with at the start.
