His Senior year we opened the field early so that the pro scouts could watch him hit his dad's offerings. I meet and talked to his grandfather who was so happy with the way Derek carried himself. Derek was obviously a very talented young man. His last AB in the District championship game was a walk-off, grand slam that cleared the right field fence, the street, and hit the porch of the house across the street.. Classy young man with a flair for the the big play. I certainly hope that I get to see him in the majors in the not too distant future. Tom Schreiber Athletic Director (Ret.) Parma Valley Forge H.S.
