If you’re looking for the best pure hitter in the 2010 draft class, Brian Ragira might be your guy. Here’s why: the hands have it.

Austin Wilson likes telling the story about the double Ragira hit in the 2009 Aflac Game at Petco Park against Ohio power right-hander Stetson Allie. Facing a guy like Allie does not leave much to the imagination. The guy reminds me of Papelbon, and the rising 96 gas and combative mound presence pretty much tell the story. This was Allie’s arm versus Ragira’s hands.

“Ragira hit it like it was nothing,” Wilson said. “He flicked his wrists. That’s all he did. Took Allie off the wall like it was nothing at all.”

In our scouting report, you can see that I think he’s got the best hands of any hitter I’ve seen in this draft.
