Daniel Norris is one of the hard-to-find high school left-handers who shows you who he is at a young age. Not a lot of guess work here if this guy stays healthy and puts the work in.
Daniel Norris, LHS
Games Seen: 2, Innings: 4 (Aflac 2010)
Science Hill HS, Tenn.
Arm Action: Good
Arm Angle: 3/4
Arm/Delivery Mechanics: Smooth full circle through back, a little long and sweeping but brings arm to proper position with extension and on-line landings.
PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION: Strong upper body features, rounded shoulders, stocky hips and thighs.
STRENGTHS: FB 91-94, comfort zone 91-92, with downhill tail and sinking action. Straight CHG 83 shows feel, deception and repetition, go-to secondary weapon. SL 69-72 with two-plane tilt and life.
WEAKNESSES: CB 69-70 show-me, lacked shape, definition and bite. Felt CB took away from SL.
SUMMATION: Physically projectable HS senior with chance to become 3-pitch ML LHS. Durably built with proper mechanics and loose and easy life. See him as FB, CHG, SL guy with CHG as best weapon. Touched 94 once. Very easy guy to like.
