What is Henry Owens checking out? Why, he’s looking at the brand new Baseball Beginnings Photo Store, featuring hundreds of photos from the 2010 Aflac game! Click Henry’s shades, or anywhere else, to see more.
Henry is checking out all his homies: Hedges, Harrison, Lopes, Evans and the rest. You can also find Henry portraying Ken Griffey Jr. and the famous “Touchdown Henry,” captured when some guy brought a football out to the field. (It’s not our fault that the lefty is a lefty!) If you look, you might find the best double-play combination on the West Coast, probably the best double-play duo I think I’ve seen since we started Beginnings – Evans and Lopes working together. The photos in the gallery will actually come up much larger than the postage-stamp scale size here.
In case you missed it, and because we launched it on deadline day, you probably did, we here at Baseball Beginnings have launched a photo store. We plan to continue integrating these onto our site. The prints are glossy and sweet, we keep them affordable, and the idea is that readers can contribute to the web site and get something in return. Hey, this is baseball, we know how it works — you help us, we help you.
We also shot the East team. Here’s Francisco Lindor charging a ball like a potential pro. Feed Francisco the hit and you can look at the East gallery.

After a lot of work, our new photo store is open. We start off with four players we covered quite a bit in the 2010 draft cycle: right-handers Dylan Covey and Peter Tago; and outfielders Austin Wilson and Angelo Gumbs. In the coming days, we’ll have more exclusive art of both 2010 and 2011 players.
We really want you to be able to get a feel for what makes a player tick here at Beginnings, and we think that these photos are another good way to do that. We like to think there’s more to baseball than playing the game – lots of thought and joy, lots of emotion. We believe in the feel for the game and we think the photos are windows into what makes a player a player.
For the readers who have been with us for a long time, this is a great way to make a contribution to the site and to get something in return. For families and fans, we think these make great and unique additions to collections, and will look great signed, or just in the living room. Everyone starts somewhere, after all.
