Scouting Video: Jarrett Parker, OF, Virginia (2010 Draft)

Jarrett Parker is a pretty solid bet as a draft pick. An athletic college outfielder, Parker is left-handed. He doesn’t have one standout tool, but he profiles as a guy who should be very steady across the board. He could develop more power as he ages, but for now, I like him as a gap-to-gap guy whose contact to spray the gaps should be more prevalent than home run power.

Scouting Report: Jarrett Parker, OF, Virginia (2010 Draft)

Jarrett Parker has some advantages for a college outfielder and professional prospect. His body type and physical projection will be beneficial for him. He won’t have one tool that will knock you out, but is the kind of guy who could develop into a servicable major league outfielder by doing several things just well enough.

Hitting the outfielders, this list is also drawn from the clubs Baseball Beginnings had a look at on the Cape. As we stated in our high school lists for pitchers, infielders, outfielders and catchers, and our college lists for pitchers and infielders, these lists here in September 2009 are not meant to be taken as definitive eight months before the June 2010 draft, but rather a signpost up ahead.
