Jedd Gyorko has hit everywhere he has played in amateur baseball and there is no doubt that he’s played his way into the draft. Let me say this: I don’t dislike Gyorko. West Virginia’s Jedd Gyorko has hit everywhere he’s been as an amateur ballplayer. Gyorko is an unorthodox player with an unconventional stance and physical features that aren’t cut from the Mike Schmidt mold, but that doesn’t mean he can’t find his way to the big leagues in the future.

Hitting from one of the most closed right-handed stances you’ll find, Gyorko likes to use the entire field and has a very good sense of how to stay within himself. Moving onto infielders, this list is mostly drawn from the clubs Baseball Beginnings had a look at on the Cape. As we stated in our high school lists for pitchers, infielders, outfielders and catchers, and our college list of pitchers, our college lists are not meant to be taken as definitive this early in the process. As Letterman used to say, please, no wagering in the audience (unless you’re an agent or a team).
